The motion
That this House notes that the 120 staff at the Accrington HM Revenue and Customs Office (HMRC) do a job which is very highly regarded by the public, that the Accrington HMRC Office is currently achieving excellent business results and that it is one of the top performing HMRC offices in the country; further notes that the office is scheduled for review in the summer of 2007 and expresses concern that the staff may be relocated to the Preston HMRC Office; believes that such a move would be detrimental to both staff and customers in East Lancashire; further believes that no staff currently employed at the Accrington HMRC Office should be relocated until the review is completed; and expresses the view that the Accrington HMRC should remain open providing a much valued service to the public of east Lancashire.
