PRIZE MONEY FOR WOMEN AT WIMBLEDON TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The motion
That this House notes the decision of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Association to award equal prize money in the Gentlemen's and Ladies' tournaments; recognises that in 2006 Wimbledon was the only Grand Slam tennis tournament not to award male and female champions the same prize money; welcomes the equal position male and female tennis players will hold at the Championship this summer; urges all sporting organisations to strive for gender equality; and deplores the continuation of all forms of gender discrimination.
