INVESTIGATION OF PRIVATE EQUITY BUY-OUTS

That this House is concerned with the level and quality of assessment of the financial risk attached to private equity buy-outs and that there is insufficient financial disclosure by the private equity companies; is concerned about the tax incentives which are driving private equity buy-outs and the prevalence of asset stripping and job redundancies which too often follow and the risks to pension funds; and therefore urges the Government to instigate a thorough and transparent investigation into these private equity companies and their operations.
