SAINSBURY'S FAIRTRADE POLICY AND DAIRY FARMERS

Tabled by Paul Flynn (Labour) 8 signatures

The motion

leave out from `Caribbean islands' to end and add `further notes that poverty to a farmer in Europe may mean delaying buying a new tractor for a year, while poverty to a farmer in the developing world may mean his family die of starvation; and believes that spreading Fairtrade goodwill to farmers subsidised by the Common Agricultural Policy would degrade and weaken the value of the Fairtrade label.'.
