CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PREVENTING VENOUS THROMBOEMBOLISM

The motion

That this House welcomes the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer on the prevention of venous thromboembolism in all hospital patients; recognises this as a positive step forward for patients and the NHS; and understands that if implemented properly in hospitals it will help to save over 25,000 preventable deaths a year.
