BNP AND THE UNIVERSITY OF BATH

That this House regrets the decision of the University of Bath to accept the visit of the British National Party leader Mr Nick Griffin to address campus students; recognises the importance of freedom of speech but not at the expense of events which may well violate Race Relations (Amendment) Act provisions against the promotion of racial hatred; and supports the campaign by the National Union of Students and the University and College Union to have the decision reversed.
