The motion
That this House recognises the importance to the British people of a properly funded National Health Service; remains disappointed that insufficient resources are committed to fund, for example, rehabilitation and intermediate care services, bereavement counselling and end-of-life services for surviving children and family members; believes that at present the experience and expertise of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals are being overlooked in favour of management consultants and business people in deciding medical priorities; and calls upon the Government to restore the proper role of medical professionals in making decisions in the NHS.
