CASE OF ALEXANDER LITVINENKO

That this House notes that Sir Ken Macdonald, Director of Public Prosecutions, has announced his intention to charge Mr Andrei Lugovoi with the murder of Alexander Litvinenko by deliberate poisoning and that the Government is now seeking his extradition to the UK; further notes that Mr Lugovoi protests his innocence; believes that it is in the interests of both countries that the full process of the law be allowed to be followed; and calls on the Russian Federation fully to cooperate with the British legal authorities so that a fair and open trial can be held and justice can be done.
