PUBLIC AFFAIRS FIRMS AND TRANSPARENCY

Tabled by Sir Peter Luff (Conservative) 3 signatures

The motion

leave out from `practice' to end and insert `notes that public affairs services are also provided by a range of other professional organisations, including lawyers, accountants and management consultants, often as only a small part of a larger service; believes that the insistence on the insertion of any clause requiring adherence to the APPC's code or that of the PRCA in contracts would restrict competition and prove unenforceable; and therefore calls on all public and private sector bodies not to require any such clause, while insisting on complete transparency by all the professional advisers working for or representing them.'.
