The motion
That this House recognises the importance of fresh water and good hydration for the well being and dignity of older people in care; supports the World Health Organisation definition that water is an important nutrient for the human body, critical to human life; notes with concern that the National Minimum Standards for Care Homes for Older People still have no requirement to ensure that fresh drinking water is available to vulnerable older residents throughout their day and that it is offered to them regularly; and supports the Water for Health Alliance's call for fresh drinking water to be automatically included as a requirement in the Government's revised National Minimum Standards for Care Homes for Older People.
