CHILDREN'S HOSPICES

That this House welcomes the report Palliative Care Services for Children and Young People in England, prepared by Sue Killen and Professor Sir Alan Craft and published on 17th May 2007; congratulates the Government, and particularly the Prime Minister, whose courageous personal intervention led to the commissioning of the report; is delighted with the raised profile of children's hospices and the palliative care sector over the last 12 months; and calls on the Government to publish its response to the review at the earliest opportunity so the sector can organise and plan its services for the benefit of children who need them and their families.
