S4C AND CON PASSIONATE

That this House congratulates S4C on winning the best soap/light drama award at the Rose d'Or Television Festival 2007 for the outstanding series Con Passionate, the first Welsh language programme to win this prestigious award; also congratulates the creator and writer of Con Passionate Siwan Jones of Carmarthenshire on creating a series appealing to both Welsh speakers and non-Welsh speakers alike; believes that television can play an important role bringing communities together and that S4C plays a unique role in fostering a positive environment for learners of the Welsh language; and further wishes S4C, Siwan Jones and the Con Passionate cast and production team well with the production of the next series.
