The motion

That this House notes the report in the New England Journal of Medicine that recorded that the drug Lucentis is effective for nine out of 10 patients for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration; is concerned that while Scottish patients will receive the drug, many of those in England and Wales will not; and calls on the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence to authorise immediately the use of this treatment.
