KWIK SAVE

Tabled by Baroness Clark of Kilwinning (Labour) 107 signatures

The motion

That this House notes that Kwik Save stores have closed 79 of its shops, making some 700 people redundant across the country; further notes that Kwik Save has not yet made any redundancy payments to its workers; believes that this is completely unacceptable in the light of the £50 million rescue package Kwik Save received in February 2007; calls upon Kwik Save to make immediate payments to all its affected workers; and calls upon the Government to bring forward proposals so that companies cannot delay making redundancy payments to their workers.
