The motion
That this House notes with regret the tragic death of 12 year old Amy Houston in a road traffic accident; further notes that the driver of the vehicle who caused the accident, Aso Mohammed Ibrahim, left the scene without calling the emergency services, was disqualified from driving, was uninsured and was a failed asylum seeker who should not have been in the UK at the time; expresses anger that the law at the time could only jail him for six months; recognises and welcomes the fact that the Government now has introduced Amy's Law, which provides for longer custodial sentences for people who cause a death whilst driving a motor vehicle whilst disqualified or uninsured; is outraged that Aso Mohammed Ibrahim is still illegally in the UK; and calls on the Home Secretary to deport him forthwith.
