The motion

That this House offers its support to the government of Portugal during its presidency of the European Union; welcomes the presidency's proposal for an EU-Africa summit to discuss matters including migration, energy, aid and trade issues; notes that this will be only the second ever EU-Africa summit; urges the Portuguese government to prevent President Robert Mugabe from attending the summit in light of the gross human rights abuses of his government; and hopes that the Portuguese presidency will be marked by progress and achievement with the institutional and economic reform agenda and enlargement programme.
