The motion
That this House expresses its concern at the decision of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to proceed with large scale voluntary redundancies and its intention to follow this with significant numbers of compulsory redundancies at its London site; notes the serious concerns expressed by key stakeholders such as HM Treasury and the Bank of England about current and future risks to the quality of the ONS's statistical outputs as a result of the loss of key staff; believes that ONS's plans to close its London site constitute a serious risk to vital public services; and therefore calls on the ONS Executive Management Board to reconsider its decisions.
