EUROPA CAR PARKS

That this House condemns in the strongest terms the usurious trading practices of Europa Car Parks in their car park in Chorlton, Manchester, where constituents of the right hon. Member for Manchester, Gorton, unable to see notices which were completely obscured by foliage, unawares incurred an over-the-time-limit parking charge, and then, still unaware of the practices of these greedy people, were told they had to pay a fine of £50; further condemns the Chief Executive of Europa Car Parks for failing to reply to three letters to him from the right hon. Member over a seven-week period; and calls on the Secretary of State for Transport to investigate this company and check the legality or otherwise of their behaviour.
