RED ARROWS AND THE OLYMPICS

That this House recognises the importance of the Red Arrows to the United Kingdom and the very special place of pride they occupy in the British people's hearts; calls on the Government and particularly the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to review their politically correct, posturing policy of refusing to use the Red Arrows on the flawed basis that they are not in keeping with the Olympics because they are too `militaristically British'; and calls on the Government to revert to using the Red Arrows in the Olympic ceremonies since they are recognised around the world as a wonderful and exciting spectacle, portraying all that is good and worthy about the British people, and the Britain which has used its military power and technology in the interests of peace, freedom and stability around the world for over the last 100 years, thus enabling the Olympics to survive as open and free games, with genuine equality and respect for all nations.
