OFGEM'S PROPOSALS FOR ZONAL DISTRIBUTION CHARGES

That this House notes that Ofgem has produced proposals for the introduction of zonal distribution charges for electricity; believes that such charges are discriminatory and will further undermine the economic viability of renewable energy projects in remoter areas of the country; and calls upon Ofgem to abandon these proposals and instead to bring forward a system that will encourage the development of renewable energy.
