GRAFFITI AND TAGGING

Tabled by John Hemming (Liberal Democrat) 32 signatures

The motion

That this House notes the problems caused by graffiti and tagging; believes that this is a good example of a crime that warrants a community punishment; further believes that an appropriate community punishment would be to clear up the mess created; fails to comprehend why the Crown Prosecution Service refuses to prosecute cases where less than £5,000 of damage is done; and calls for those who create the mess of tagging to be required to clear it up.
