OFFICE OF NATIONAL STATISTICS REPORT ON MIGRATION

That this House welcomes the report by the Office of National Statistics on the migration figures for Britain in 2006; notes that this reports a record exodus from Britain by 207,000 British citizens and 193,000 foreign citizens in 2006; recognises the contribution made to British culture, society and economy by migrant workers and foreign students coming to Britain; and believes that migration helps foster national prosperity and international links.
