INQUIRY INTO THE ASSASSINATION OF BENAZIR BHUTTO

That this House notes with deep regret the murder of former Pakistani Prime Minister and Leader of the Pakistan People's Party, Benazir Bhutto, on 27th December; recognises that Benazir Bhutto was committed to democracy in Pakistan; further notes that any investigation into her death must be independent and thorough; and calls upon the Government through its membership of the United Nations Security Council to press for a formal UN investigation into Benazir Bhutto's murder similar to the inquiry into the murder of the former Lebanese Prime Minister, Rafik Hariri.
