OVERSEAS OWNERSHIP OF FOOTBALL CLUBS

That this House notes with concern that nearly half the clubs in the Premiership are now owned by overseas investors; questions whether this country's football interests, and the interests of UK supporters, are best served by this concentration of overseas ownership; and calls on the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee to hold an inquiry into the ownership of professional football clubs and how the interests of supporters can be protected and promoted.
