The motion
That this House notes the Labour Party Manifesto of 1997 which said that `we will work towards the elimination of mixed sex wards'; further notes the Labour Party Manifesto of 2001 which said that `mixed sex wards will be abolished'; recognises that mixed sex wards are a large concern for many patients; realises that dignity and privacy should be afforded to all patients; and calls on the Government to honour its previous manifesto promises and abolish mixed sex wards and to provide a timetable for when this will be achieved.
