PLAYBUSTERS EASY SPANISH IN EAST GLASGOW

That this House congratulates the Playbusters project based in Parkhead, its project manager, Margaret Layden, and her team, the board of management comprised of local residents, and the funders of the project for establishing the very successful community project, Easy Spanish, open to people of all ages throughout East Glasgow; notes that the success of the project was recognised by it being invited to a prestigious awards ceremony at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff where it received three awards: the European Award for Languages from the Centre of International Languages and Teaching, the much coveted Mary Glasgow Award for Innovative Projects involving languages and the Spanish Embassy prize for the best project involving Spanish; and believes that this is yet another excellent example of the renaissance of the east end of Glasgow and reflects tremendous credit on all the children and adults involved.
