CONDUCT OF HON. MEMBER FOR HENLEY

That this House notes that on 30th January, the hon. Member for Henley on a point of order, accused the Prime Minister of inadvertently misleading the House, by claiming that the hon. Member for Henley wanted to cut spending on the police; further notes that on 10th September 2007 at a Conservative Mayoral hustings, the hon. Member for Henley said `we have got to be absolutely clear where the scope for real economies is and the real big ticket for spending is the Metropolitan Police and Transport for London. That's where the real savings, believe me, are to be found'; believes the Prime Minister's answer to the hon. Member for Hendon at Question Time was therefore fully justified and accurate in stating that the choice in London will be between an administration that wants to employ more police and get crime down, under Labour Mayor Ken Livingstone and the hon. Member for Henley who wishes to cut spending on the Metropolitan Police; and therefore calls upon the hon. Member for Henley to apologise to the Prime Minister on the floor of the House for his unwarranted accusations.
