PROMOTING WORK-BASED QUALIFICATIONS

That this House congratulates Flybe for being in the first group of companies to be given the ability to award nationally accredited qualifications to employees by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority; welcomes the fact that these employees will gain a recognised work-based qualification which will assist them with their career paths; calls upon industry, commerce and educational establishments to recognise the role and the value of work based training; and hopes this announcement will encourage other employers in the airline and associated sectors to develop and promote work-based qualifications as part of the initiatives now being brought forward.
