The motion
That this House salutes the memory of Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park GCB, KBE, MC and Bar, DFC, RAF, a neglected hero of World War Two; recognises the huge contribution of this great commander to some of the most decisive tactical victories of the war; endorses wholeheartedly the comments of Lord Tedder, Marshal of the Royal Air Force, who said in 1947, `If any one man won the Battle of Britain, he did. I do not believe it is realised how much that one man, with his leadership, his calm judgment and his skill, did to save, not only this country, but the world'; believes the time is now right for a fitting memorial to Sir Keith; and supports the campaign to erect a permanent statue of Sir Keith on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.
