CLOSURE OF FOOD FROM BRITAIN

That this House is dismayed that cuts by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs have forced Food from Britain, the body responsible for promoting British food abroad, to close on 31st March 2009; recognises the valuable part played by Food from Britain in encouraging and supporting exporting UK food producers; notes the need for such a body; further notes the economic troubles at the Department; and calls on the Government to act before more valuable services are lost to the UK food and drink industry.
