The motion
That this House notes that rugby league has been classed as a class B sport according to Sport England; recognises the national attraction of rugby league as a spectator sport coupled to the fact that participation rates are increasing at amateur level throughout the country in addition to the UK armed forces; further notes that crowd attendances are increasing, while major finals such as the Challenge Cup Final and Super League Grand Final produce sell-out crowds and international audiences; and calls on Sport England to reclassify rugby league as a class A sport.
