RETIREMENT OF Ms ANITA SYVRET

That this House regrets the imminent retirement of Ms Anita Syvret as Editor of the Gloucestershire Echo, a position she has held for 18 years; notes that she was the first woman to edit a regional daily newspaper since 1939; pays tribute to her work over all these years, with particular reference to the campaigns for good causes which she has run; recognises that the Gloucestershire Echo has, under her leadership, been a daily source of up-to-date, accurate and useful information to its many readers; especially further notes the role the newspaper played during the flooding in Gloucestershire last year; and wishes her well for the future.
