The motion
That this House welcomes the Final Appraisal Determination issued by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence in April which establishes that treatment with Lucentis is cost-effective for the vast majority of patients with wet age-related macular degeneration; notes that more than one third of primary care trusts have already implemented the recommendations; further notes that the Royal College of Ophthalmologists is recommending full implementation of Final Guidance within the normal three month period; and urges the Secretary of State to follow this expert advice.
