OIL AND GAS REGULATION

That this House notes with concern the steep and continuing rise in fuel prices which is putting a huge strain on people in an uncertain economic climate; further notes that some practices in the energy supply industry, and especially in the unregulated sectors, have contributed to these price increases; and calls on the Government to ensure the National Consumer Council includes oil, liquid petroleum gas and all other forms of fuel products currently not under regulation within its remit to help people with the massive increases in their energy bills, particularly in rural areas.
