Tabled by Tim Farron (Liberal Democrat) 32 signatures

The motion

That this House notes and is greatly concerned by the global food crisis; further notes that little action has been taken to increase British food production or to enhance food security at a time of rising food prices and concern about the future security and availability of worldwide food production; realises that Britain will not be exempt from the global food crisis; and calls on the Government to take positive action to support farming and food production in Britain in order to ensure a secure supply of affordable food for people at home and abroad.
