BICENTENARY OF BERWICK ADVERTISER

That this House congratulates the Berwick Advertiser on its 200th anniversary of service as a local newspaper for the Berwick area; further recognises the contribution of the Tweeddale Press newspapers to the life of communities throughout North Northumberland and the Borders; and draws attention to the vital role of local weekly newspapers and their on-line services at a time when many national media trivialise or ignore the democratic process.
