The motion
That this House notes the growing support for the campaign for lighter evenings; recognises that by moving to a system of Single and Double Summer Time the UK would have lighter evenings, providing considerable environmental, road safety, health and leisure advantages which would outweigh the disadvantages of darker mornings; further notes that the campaign has the support of organisations such as the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions, the Child Accident Prevention Trust and the AA; and calls on the Government to introduce a three year trial period in order to make better use of the hours of daylight.
