The motion

That this House congratulates the City Fringe Partnership, the economic development partnership, for its successful organisation of the Coutts London Jewellery Week, the first event to recognise London's position as a world centre for jewellery retail, design and manufacturing and the economic importance of the industry to the capital; acknowledges the importance of harnessing commercial expertise to encourage entrepreneurship and enterprise as a means of creating job opportunities, supporting the development of a thriving small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) sector, and promoting opportunity and achievement in deprived areas across the country; and urges continued support from the Government, the London Development Agency and Parliamentarians for the City Fringe Partnership and similar organisations as they continue to provide vital business support to SMEs and skills and access to jobs for individuals in some of the country's most deprived communities.
