MOBILE TELEPHONE MASTS IN SHROPSHIRE

That this House notes that Walden Telecom Ltd in Byfleet has applied to install huge mobile telephone masts near rural primary schools in Shropshire; considers that the company did not communicate effectively with those affected locally about the application; further considers that the company should have had the courtesy to write to the local councillor and clerk of the parish council concerned; further notes that the failure to communicate effectively with the parish council contributed to the failure of the application, resulting in a waste of time and public money, which could have been avoided; and condemns the company's lack of professionalism in this matter which has led to great problems for all concerned.
