Tabled by Tim Farron (Liberal Democrat) 30 signatures

The motion

That this House notes with concern the lack of alternative communication services provided for deaf people; further notes that many utility companies and Government departments depend on the use of a telephone for arranging appointments; believes that the current service provided by Minicom and Typetalk is not always sufficient; and calls on the Government to encourage utility companies and Government departments to increase their use of text messaging for communication with deaf people.
