COLLECTION OF CLOTHES FOR PROFIT

The motion
That this House notes with concern the practice of private companies who distribute unsolicited mail asking residents for unwanted clothes and blankets; notes that these mailings take the form of charity notices, but that once the clothes are collected they are then sold for a profit; expresses concern that people are being misled about the nature of such collections; and calls on the Government to ensure that any company carrying out such practices should clearly state that the clothes will be sold for profit as opposed to collected for charity.
