ENFRANCHISEMENT OF 16 AND 17 YEAR OLDS IN JERSEY

The motion
That this House notes that elections for the States of Jersey, the island's Parliament, are scheduled for 15th October 2008; further notes that the States passed a law in 2007 reducing the voting age to 16 years; and believes that the franchise in British mainland elections should also be extended to 16 and 17 year olds.
