BANKING TRANSPARENCY

Tabled by Harry Cohen (Labour) 48 signatures

The motion

That this House considers that proper accounting and transparency rules must apply to all banks and financial institutions that operate in the UK; and is of the opinion that those institutions which do not avail themselves of state funds for a shareholding stake, which is their right, must nevertheless be required to comply with higher standards of accounting and transparency of their activities overall.
