The motion
That this House supports the action taken by the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer to protect the savings of members of the public following the collapse of confidence in the UK banking system; notes that such action will help protect the savings of pensioners and those close to retirement; and calls on the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer to act immediately to implement the Ombudsman's recommendations following the collapse of Equitable Life so that more pensioners can face their retirement with greater confidence.
