The motion

That this House welcomes the initiatives being put into place by the Kennel Club to improve the health of pedigree dogs, including regular health surveys, changes that have been made to breed standards and judging criteria, the Fit for Function Fit for Life education campaign and the Accredited Breeder Scheme, which requires breeders to carry out breed specific health testing on pedigree dogs to ensure future generations are healthy; and calls on the Government to encourage breeders to become accredited.
