THAI-CAMBODIA BORDER DISPUTE

That this House notes with concern the recent outbreak of fighting on the Thai-Cambodia border in the area around Preah Vihear; further notes that this appears to be the result of an unprovoked assault by Thai troops and to have more to do with internal political tensions in Thailand than any dispute with Cambodia; and calls on the government of Thailand to restrain its armed forces and to resolve peacefully any territorial dispute with its neighbours, if necessary by seeking international mediation.
