The motion
That this House notes Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) Awareness Day on 24th October 2008; welcomes the united efforts of the wider internet and telecoms industry, charities, trade bodies and other IWF stakeholders and supporters in raising public awareness of the IWF `Hotline' reporting service; recognises the IWF's self-regulatory good practice and partnership approach which has achieved a near eradication of child sexual abuse websites hosted in the UK and has led to IWF's facilitation of the UK-wide voluntary blocking of child sexual abuse websites hosted abroad, by the online sector, to protect UK internet users; and calls for wider international action to eradicate online child abuse worldwide.
