PRE-PAYMENT METERS

That this House is concerned about the millions of people who pay for their gas and electricity via a pre-payment meter; notes that these customers are having to pay a premium to heat and light their homes compared to customers who pay by quarterly bills; and calls on the Government, energy suppliers and Ofgem to work together to remove this unfair and unequal premium which allows customers on low incomes to be discriminated against in this way.
