DEATH SENTENCE ON TROY ANTHONY DAVIS (No. 2)

That this House welcomes the decision by the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, delivered on 24th October 2008, to issue a 25 day stay of execution for Troy Davis; notes with concern that Mr Davis' case has now appeared before 29 judges in seven types of review; further notes this is the third time in 16 months that a stay of execution has now been ordered in the case; and calls upon the Georgia Supreme Court to allow Troy Davis a new hearing.
