PRE-PAYMENT METER TARIFFS

That this House registers its disapproval of the excessive charges facing energy customers using pre-payment meters; regards it as even less acceptable for energy companies to back-date tariff increases to customers whose meters they have not bothered to re-set; believes that customers should not be asked to meet the costs of energy company incompetance; and calls on the Government to bring in new rules making tariff increases applicable only from the point of meter re-setting.
